I am Afghan, Afghani is Currency Vol II: Beltoon

I am Afghan, Afghani is Currency Vol. 2: Beltoon is a bare presentation and exploration of Afghan folk and light classical music. Specifically paying tribute to Ustad Momin Khan Beltoon (prolific Afghan folkloric musician). Beltoon also comes in response to the current geopolitical climate and swell of hatred, promoting music over propaganda. The EP features longtime collaborator, Dr Neelamjit Dhillon on Tabla.

The EP was paired with “Beltoon”,  continued collaboration with Mexican filmmaker, César Orozco. Inspired by nostalgia and modern in design, it was filmed in Phoenix, Arizona at Gura Nanak Dwara.
